{"id":11154,"date":"2014-05-21T12:01:10","date_gmt":"2014-05-21T19:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.janaremy.com\/pilgrimsteps\/?p=11154"},"modified":"2014-05-21T09:36:39","modified_gmt":"2014-05-21T16:36:39","slug":"difference-day-makes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.janaremy.com\/pilgrimsteps\/2014\/05\/21\/difference-day-makes\/","title":{"rendered":"What a difference a day makes&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was 30 years ago today that I was <a href=\"http:\/\/pilgrimgirl.blogspot.com\/2010\/05\/on-turning-39.html\" target=\"_blank\">diagnosed with bone cancer<\/a>.\u00a0 I shared that story with my daughter as I drove her to school this morning, not realizing that I&#8217;d never told her before how it happened.<\/p>\n<p>My life completely changed that day, and in the days that followed.\u00a0 On the 21st I was diagnosed, on the 22nd I had biopsy surgery, on the 23rd I learned that I would lose my leg, on the 24th I had my first chemo treatment, and on the 25th I celebrated my 13th birthday by sipping 7Up and puking birthday cake in front of friends and family.<\/p>\n<p>I remain amazed that I am still alive and relatively healthy, three decades later&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was 30 years ago today that I was diagnosed with bone cancer.\u00a0 I shared that story with my daughter as I drove her to school this morning, not realizing that I&#8217;d never told her before how it happened.
