Last year, my resolutions were<\/a>:<\/strong>
\n-sleep more
\n-cook most of my meals at home
\n-plant a bigger veggie garden
\n-fret less about money
\n-read more books
\n-take long walks
\n-write for pleasure
\n-own less stuff
\n-do yoga, daily
\n-go camping, monthly
\n-be a better friend\/neighbor\/colleague\/family member
\n-live closer to where I work<\/p>\n

Though I did not do as much camping as I’d hoped to when I penned this list, I believe that three months of homeless research sabbatical, probably counts a bit towards the camping goal.\u00a0 I also didn’t grow too many veggies (see: homelessness<\/a>), so I am rolling that goal over to 2015.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the accomplished goals that give me the most satisfaction are the daily yoga, being a better friend, and walking more.\u00a0 The ones that I hope to continue on into this next year include writing for pleasure and increasing the number of home-cooked meals.<\/p>\n

In addition to these very personal resolutions I also set a number of aims for my scholarly productivity.\u00a0 Checking many of these goals off of my to-do list has brought a great sense of accomplishment.\u00a0 I feel so very fortunate to have a work environment where I am constantly striving and mastering new things.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
