{"id":11390,"date":"2015-05-21T22:41:58","date_gmt":"2015-05-22T05:41:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.janaremy.com\/pilgrimsteps\/?p=11390"},"modified":"2015-05-21T22:41:58","modified_gmt":"2015-05-22T05:41:58","slug":"31st-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.janaremy.com\/pilgrimsteps\/2015\/05\/21\/31st-anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"31st anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today was the anniversary of the day that I was diagnosed with bone cancer, probably the single worst day of my life.\u00a0 It&#8217;s generally a tough one for me, although <a href=\"http:\/\/www.janaremy.com\/pilgrimsteps\/2011\/05\/21\/on-this-day\/\" target=\"_blank\">some years<\/a> are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.janaremy.com\/pilgrimsteps\/2009\/05\/22\/my-big-birthday-wish\/\" target=\"_blank\">better<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.janaremy.com\/pilgrimsteps\/2012\/05\/\" target=\"_blank\">than<\/a> others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some small pleasures from today:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">sharing my salmon dinner with Ellycat<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">lighting candles on the fireplace mantle of my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10153046063548411&amp;set=a.10150935145763411.433263.625388410&amp;type=1&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\">new, but still empty, house<\/a>.\u00a0 Imagining what it will look like once I get the furniture all moved over<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">teaching a workshop on one of my favorite digital tools, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zotero.org\" target=\"_blank\">Zotero<\/a> (because I can wax rhapsodic about the beauty of my footnotes)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">some of my students dropping by the house, to chat and munch on cookies<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">walking to and from work, with confidence.\u00a0 Not taking even one single step for granted.\u00a0 Feeling grateful for mobility and strength.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today was the anniversary of the day that I was diagnosed with bone cancer, probably the single worst day of my life.\u00a0 It&#8217;s generally a tough one for me, although some years are better than others.
