I Am Like a Rose<\/p>\n

I am myself at last; now I achieve
\nMy very self, I, with the wonder mellow,
\nFull of fine warmth, I issue forth in clear
\nAnd single me, perfected from my fellow.<\/p>\n

Here I am all myself. No rose-bush heaving
\nIts limpid sap to culmination has brought
\nItself more sheer and naked out of the green
\nIn stark-clear roses, than I to myself am brought.<\/p>\n

Poetry is such a personal thing.\u00a0 But it seems that more often than not, when friends share some stanzas of poetry with me, I find that it resonates with me at some level.\u00a0 Like the passage above, sent by a friend yesterday.\u00a0 It’s perfect for me and where I’m at right now…<\/p>\n

These past few days have had me falling in love hard and fast<\/a>.\u00a0 With just about everything.\u00a0 Some of these include<\/p>\n

\n

–My first few steps at learning parsel-tongue<\/a>.\u00a0 So I can call myself a genuine digital humanist.<\/p>\n

–Hot waffles full of melted cheese when it’s cold and rainy outside.<\/p>\n

–Sitting cross-legged on my fluffy carpet every morning, as I contemplate the day ahead.<\/p>\n

–Cooking crepes (in my new Calphalon pan) and pots of soup and cinnamon rolls and fresh bread.<\/p>\n

–Cheese sauce.<\/p>\n

–Hamburgers (at Haven and Bruxie and Ruta’s and In-n-Out and Norm’s and the Grinder and…)\u00a0 Have I mentioned that these past few months I have been craving<\/em> hamburgers? Just craving.<\/p>\n

–Making travel plans (with a flight leaving in just a few hours!).<\/p>\n

–A friend’s offering of Girl Scout cookies, after an evening of talking, talking, talking.<\/p>\n

–Joan Jett (she is so rocker-tough-cool).<\/p>\n

–Being in first place until the final round of pub trivia, on our team’s very first attempt at working together (and I so want them all on team next time!).<\/p>\n

–Snuggling into the cozy purple chair for movie night.<\/p>\n

–Candles.<\/p>\n

–Naps.<\/p>\n

–Sepia-toned photos (for decoupage).<\/p>\n

–Corsets.<\/p>\n

–A somewhat spontaneous piano concerto concert and the good conversation afterwards.<\/p>\n

–An important package that arrived in the mail today and the awesome friends who signed for it while I was away at work.<\/p>\n

–Huge hugs from CatGirl and GameBoy when I walk in the door each evening.<\/p>\n
