Beforehand what<br \/>\nyou have is a tedious<br \/>\ndelusion, a hobby like knitting[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>The reason people want M.F.A.&#8217;s,<br \/>\ntake workshops with fancy names<br \/>\nwhen all you can really<br \/>\nlearn is a few techniques,<br \/>\ntyping instructions and some-<br \/>\nboy else&#8217;s mannerisms<\/p>\n<p>is that every artist lacks<br \/>\na license to hang on the wall<br \/>\nlike your optician, your vet<br \/>\nproving you may be a clumsy sadist<br \/>\nwhose fillings fall into the stew<br \/>\nbut you&#8217;re a certified dentist.<\/p>\n<p>The real writer is one<br \/>\nwho really writes. Talent<br \/>\nis an invention like phlogiston<br \/>\nafter the fact of fire.<br \/>\nWork is its own cure.
